As part of our ongoing commitment to external communications and providing valuable information to our community, the Department posts preliminary information about incidents that occurred the previous evening, including shootings and stabbings, as well as any other LBPD updates to the Department's homepage and on the "News" tab of the Department's website. This page will be updated as new incidents occur.
Here's a recap of incidents occurring last night:

  • No-hit shooting - 2200 block of Chesnut Avenue: On October 21, 2024at approximately8:25 p.m., officers responded to the 2200 block of Chesnut Avenue regarding a shotscall. Officers locatedevidence indicating a shooting had occurred. The suspects(s) fled the scene prior to officers' arrival. Suspect information and the motive for the shooting are under investigation. No injuries were reported.

  • No-hit shooting - 1900 block of Santa Fe Avenue: On Oct. 21, 2024at approximately 8:28 p.m., officers responded to the 1900 block of Santa Fe Avenue regarding a shotscall. Upon arrival, officers locatedevidence indicating a shooting occurred. The preliminary investigation indicatesa group of victims were in a business when a male suspect discharged a firearm in their direction. Officers locatedthe suspect nearby and safely took him into custody. The suspect was identified as Cesar Dominguez Santos, a 27-year-old resident of Long Beach, who was booked for attempted murder, carrying a loaded firearm in public, and a felon in possession of a firearm. Bail is set $1,000,000. No injuries were reported. Officers recovered a firearm. The investigation is ongoing.

  • No-hit shooting - Market Street and LocustAvenue: On October 22, 2024at approximately 12:21 a.m., officerswere in the area of Market Street and Locust Avenue when they heard presumed gunfire. Officers locatedevidence indicating a shooting had occurred. The suspects(s) fled the scene prior to officers' arrival. Suspect information and the motive for the shooting are under investigation. No injuries were reported.
