Donation Drive for Hurricane Helene Relief in Southwest Virginia

In the aftermath of Hurricane Helene, communities across the country are rallying to provide relief to those in need. While much of the focus has been on areas of widespread devastation like Western North Carolina, the City of Roanoke is also turning its attention to Southwest Virginia, where rural towns such as Damascus and Washington County are facing significant challenges.

Roanoke is calling on its residents to step up through a citywide Donation Drive, gathering essential items to support our neighbors in Southwest Virginia.

Donations can be dropped off through Wednesday, October 16, 2024, at any Roanoke public library branch, the Municipal Building, or the Department of Social Services. The City is coordinating with the United Way to ensure all items reach those in need. We will continue to assess ongoing needs and extend the drive as necessary.
