Judicial Performance Review results published

Results from The Iowa State Bar Association's (ISBA) biennial survey of judges standing for retention in this year's general election were tabulated and recently made available on the ISBA website.

Attorneys evaluated one Supreme Court justice, four appellate judges, and 64 district court judges based on 12 performance characteristics (10 for members of the court of appeals) specified in the survey. A total of 1,045 attorneys responded to this year's survey.

The ISBA Independence of the Judiciary Chair Guy Cook was appreciative of the ratings. "The results of the comprehensive Judicial Performance Review confirm the high quality of Iowa jurists, a direct result of Iowa's nonpartisan merit selection process. Iowans can be proud," Cook said.
