On October 30, 2024, New York State Police members arrest a 17-year-old male from Guatemala for attempted rape 1st, forcible touching, possession of a forged instrument 2nd (2 counts), and criminal impersonation 2nd.
On October 30, 2024, at approximately 3:04 a.m., State Police members responded to McGowan Road in the town of Oswegatchie for a sexual assault complaint. An investigation determined the 17-year-old male forcibly grabbed and forcibly attempted to take the victim's clothing off while sexually assaulting the victim. The victim was able to get away from the 17-year-old male and called a roommate to come back to the residence. The New York State Police members and U.S Customs and Border Protection officers continued to investigate the incident and determined the 17-year-old male provided false documentation and false identity.
The 17-year-old male was arrested and transported to SP Ogdensburg for processing. He was arraigned in the St. Lawrence County Youth Court, where he was remanded to St. Lawrence County Jail in lieu of $750.00 cash bail or 1,500.00 bond.
The 17-year-old male was transported to U.S. Customs and Border Protection office for further questioning and processing. He will be held in a juvenile detention center until further notice.
The State Police were assisted by the U.S. Customs and Border Protection and the St. Lawrence County Sheriff's Department.
