Park and Ride for the Tall Ships Races 2024

The Tall Ships Races event area will open to the public on Tuesday, July 16th. From Wednesday, July 17th, visitors can use the park-and-ride service for their private cars at the Turku Fair Center parking lot.

Park-and-ride is an easy and convenient way to reach the event. Visitors park their cars at the Fair Center parking lot and pay a one-time fee via the EasyPark app. The parking fee is €15 plus the operator's service fee. The fee is per car and the parking is valid for 24 hours from the start of the parking period. Instructions for setting up the EasyPark app can be found on the EasyPark website.

Shuttle bus service from park-and-ride to the event area and back

The park and ride fee includes both the parking fee and the bus rides to and from the event area. Shuttle buses run every 30 minutes between the Fair Center and the event area:

  • July 17-20: 10.15 AM - 10 PM
  • July 21: 10.15 AM - 5 PM

How the park-and-ride works during the event:

1. Park your car at the Fair Center parking lot: Turku Fair Center - Google Maps.
2. Pay the parking fee per car using the EasyPark app. Use area code 6441.
3. When entering the bus, show the app to confirm the parking period has started. The parking fee is fixed and valid for 24 hours. Keep the parking active until you leave the Fair Center parking area.
4. Head back to the Fair Center at the end of the day. While waiting for transportation in front of the tram hall, you can enjoy exhibitions by the Fendari Workshops for the Youth or have a coffee.

The park-and-ride improves accessibility to events in the Turku area sustainably by ensuring the limited parking spaces in the city center are sufficient and avoiding unnecessary congestion. The event-time park-and-ride was previously tested during the Path of Light event in December 2023. Now, the concept is being tested on a larger scale during the Tall Ships Races as part of the Scale-Up project.
