Volusia County Opens Landfill and Transfer Station with Special Hours this Weekend

To assist residents with Hurricane Milton Debris removal, Volusia County is opening the Tomoka Farms Road Landfill and West Volusia Transfer Station this weekend. Both facilities will operate and accept waste during the following hours on Saturday, Oct. 12, and Sunday, Oct. 13:

  • Tomoka Farms Landfill, 1990 Tomoka Farms Road, Port Orange: 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
  • West Volusia Transfer Station, 3151 E. New York Ave., DeLand: 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Beginning Monday, Oct. 14, normal operating hours will resume as follows:

  • Tomoka Farms Landfill: 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday through Saturday
  • West Volusia Transfer Station: 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday and 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday

Residents can stay updated by downloading the Volusia Emergency Management app, following the County's social media channels, or visiting www.volusia.org. Residents can also call the Citizens Information Center at 866-345-0345 until 5 p.m. today for storm-related inquiries.
