Angela S Wu, M.S., Kaci Cink, M.P.H., Viktoria Sterkhova, M.P.H., Wen-Chieh Lin, Ph.D.Using data from the U.S. Census Bureau, this fact sheet andinteractive map detail health insurance coverage for Kansans in 2023by congressional district as well as by age group. The type of coverage available, demographic factors such as age and income, access to careand personal preferenceare some of the factors that may lead to differences in health insurance coverage between areas. These differencesmay indicatean opportunity for improvement. For example, if all congressional districts had the uninsured rate reported for children inthe 3rd District (3.7percent), there would be 13,681fewer uninsured children in Kansas.
