The monthly invoice offers great flexibility, as customers receive their purchases for an entire month in one invoice and can then pay by direct debit or bank transfer.
The online marketplace eBay is introducing a new payment option in Germany. eBay shoppers can now use the "monthly invoice" and pay for their monthly purchases in a single invoice they receive on the first calendar day of the month. The new payment option, a popular way to pay in Germany, offers even great flexibility and control to German eBay shoppers in how they pay when they purchase on eBay.
"With the monthly invoice, we are offering our customers another way to tailor their online shopping experience to their wishes," says Dr. Saskia Meier-Andrae, Managing Director of eBay Germany. "We know that our buyers want an easy and fast solution for combining payments for multiple purchases. This is exactly what we are now making possible with the monthly invoice from Riverty." Nothing changes for eBay sellers with the monthly invoice, they receive their money as before in accordance with the agreed payout plan.
Embedded solution with established partner Riverty
Monthly invoice is an integrated, powerful option for paying later at no additional cost. Customers do not need to create a separate account. On the first calendar day of the month, they receive an invoice for all added purchases that can be paid within 14 days. No additional fees are applied if a payment is made on time. Payments are processed via Riverty, a trusted German payment service provider from the Bertelsmann Group.

eBay is now rolling out the new payment option to many eBay customers in Germany and will make it generally available by early 2025.
