Nominations are open for the 2025 BOP – Bologna Prize for Best Children’s Publishers of the Year

In its 13th edition, the award highlights the top children's publishers of the year in each of the six geographical areas: Africa, Asia, Europe, Caribbean - Central and Latin America, North America, Oceania.

We are pleased to inform you that the 62nd Bologna Children's Book Fair (31 March - 3 April 2025) will be assigning the much-awaited BOP - Bologna Prize for the Best Children's Publishers of the Year.

The prize is organised by the Bologna Children's Book Fair in partnership with the Italian Publishers Association (AIE) and the International Publishers Association (IPA) and seeks to:

• acknowledge publishing excellence, highlighting the professional expertise of publishing houses;
• encourage mutual awareness and exchange among countries.

Call for nominations:

To assign the prizes, however, we need your help. Please nominate your favourite publishing houses in each of the six geographical areas. We kindly invite you to fill in the nomination form available at this link by 20 January 2025.

Instructions:

It is possible to nominate all publishing houses specialized in children's books or which have major production lines dedicated to young Readers. Winners of the previous BOP editions cannot be nominated, please have a look at the winners here.

On the process:

The five publishing houses receiving the highest number of nominations in each geographical area will form the set of candidate publishers for the prize. The winners will be chosen by the exhibitors at the 2025 Bologna Children's Book Fair by filling in the prize form available in the reserved area of the Book Fair website from 28 January until 28 February 2025.

The winners will be announced during the Bologna Children's Book Fair 2025.
