Major General Aruna Jayasekara (Retd) appointed as Acting Minister of Defence

President Anura Kumara Dissanayake left the island this afternoon on an official visit to India, marking his first official foreign visit since assuming office.

Five Acting Ministers including the Deputy Minister of Defence have been appointed as Acting Ministers, with effect from today (Dec 15).

Accordingly, Deputy Minister of Defence Major General Aruna Jayasekara (Retd) has been appointed as the Acting Minister of Defence.
