Lake Charles - On November 17, 2024, shortly after 11:00 a.m., Louisiana State Police Troop D began investigating a single-vehicle fatality crash on Louisiana Highway 3059 near Luke Powers Road. The crash claimed the life of 27-year-old Brandon Clark of Lake Charles.

The preliminary investigation revealed that Clark was riding a 2019 Harley-Davidson motorcycle east on LA Hwy 3059. For reasons still under investigation, the motorcycle traveled off the roadway to the right and overturned, ejecting Clark.

Clark, who was wearing a DOT-approved helmet, sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Standard toxicology samples were collected from Clark and submitted for analysis.

While the cause of this crash remains under investigation, impaired and distracted driving remain leading causes of crashes in our state. Louisiana State Police urge all motorists to stay sober, focused, and alert on the road.
