Washington, D.C. - Congresswoman Uifa'atali Amata is highlighting the nomination of another friend and former colleague for the important administration role of Secretary of Transportation, Congressman Sean Duffy.
"Secretary of Transportation is a major role, including for American Samoa, that affects highways, bridges, ports, airports and air travel," said Congresswoman Aumua Amata. "President Trump's nominations have included numerous friends and congressional colleagues, and I'm happy to welcome another in Congressman Sean Duffy. I know him to be a person of faith as a practicing Catholic, and he admirably stepped down after serving eight years in Congress to put his family ahead of his career and take time for one of his children who needed care. I look forward to working with him to improve and support our transportation priorities and infrastructure."
In Congress, he served on the House Financial Services Committee, and as Chairman of the Subcommittee on Housing and Insurance. In addition to Congress, he has served as a District Attorney in Wisconsin, and he is well-known to television audiences in American including as co-host of a Fox Business Network program.
