NYC Comptroller Lander Slams Mayor Adams for Meeting with Trump Border Czar Homan

In light of Mayor Eric Adams' sit-down with incoming Trump Border Czar Tom Homan, New York City Comptroller Brad Lander released the following statement:

"Eric Adams is so focused on cozying up to Trump that he is willing to deny people due process and put the safety of families at risk. This open-armed embrace of Trump's xenophobic policies is a betrayal of everyone who calls New York City home.

"Tom Homan's mass deportation plans extend far beyond people with criminal convictions, even to U.S. citizen children in mixed status families. He will tear families apart, shattering the safety and security of communities across the five boroughs.

"New Yorkers are fed up with a City Hall that has failed to deliver on issues of affordability and safety - but that's the fault of Eric Adams, not of people seeking asylum here."
