Find new creative outlets this holiday season with your Rock Island Public Library card and Creativebug for Libraries!
Creativebug is a digital art and craft education resource that provides library cardholders with unlimited access to thousands of online art and craft classes for all ages. Thanks to the library's subscription, RIPL cardholders can begin new projects and new hobbies with free online classes, daily practice, learning journeys, video tutorials, and other resources. The wide selection of subjects includes high quality, step-by-step instruction in painting, drawing, sewing, embroidery, knitting, baking, design, and more.
It's easy to find classes that match your skill level, and there's even a special kids and teens category for age-specific crafts. Whether you want to sew your own wardrobe, learn the art of book making, refresh your home decor, begin a painting practice, learn to crochet one swatch at a time, piece together a quilt top, or learn to knit, Creativebug learning journeys can help you master new skills and gain confidence. If you're already a crafter, you can find new resources or inspiration through an online library full of patterns and printables.
New classes from expert artists are introduced each week. Upcoming new releases for the upcoming holiday season include an intermediate guide for abstract painting, a class on making woven star fabric ornaments, and a daily practice on working with image transfers.
To access Creativebug, you need a Rock Island Public Library card. You can create an account on your first visit and use your library card number for future visits. You can also access Creativebug through the Creativebug app, which is available for iOS and Android. To get started with Creativebug, visit the library's Digital Resources page.
