The New York State Department of Transportation today announced an extension of the public comment period for the Draft Planning and Environment Linkages Report for the I-787 corridor in Albany County. Due to a high volume of ongoing public feedback, the comment period has been extended until Sunday, December 1, 2024.
"The robust response from the public to the I-787 Draft Planning and Environment Linkages Report has been impressive and is a true demonstration of how invested the community is in a potential project along this corridor," NYSDOT Commissioner Marie Therese Dominguez said. "We are committed to ensuring all voices are heard throughout this process, and this extension will provide additional time for members of the community to provide their valuable input."
NYSDOT has actively sought public feedback throughout the development of the report. Three large open houses and dozens of smaller community feedback sessions were held. The department recently published the Draft Planning and Environment Linkages Report on its website, 787.dot.ny.gov, for public review and comment.
The extension of the public comment period is intended to provide ample opportunity for all stakeholders potentially impacted by the report to submit their comments.
The public is encouraged to submit comments on the I-787 Draft Planning and Environment Linkages Report online at 787.dot.ny.gov ("Tell us What You Think" button), by mail at New York State Department of Transportation, I-787 PEL Report Comments, 50 Wolf Rd., Albany, NY 12232, or email us at: [email protected]
The public comment period closes on Sunday, December 1.
