Structural Damage Assessments Ongoing

The Sumter County Building Official and a team of building inspection contractors will visit residential and commercial properties found on Thursday and Friday that had major damage or complete destruction. They will determine if the properties need to be posted as unsafe for entry as well as document the severity of the damage during these inspections.

This detailed assessment will also provide the value of the damage for communication with the State of Florida for any public assistance that may be available to the property owners.
