City of Southfield 2024 Election News & Info Center

Early Voting Available this November in Southfield!

Early Voting will be available from October 26, 2024 - November 3, 2024 from 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. in Park & Recreation Room 115. Early voting will also be available for all Southfield precincts at Oakland County's regional site: Waterford Oaks Activity Center, 2800 Watkins Lake Road, Waterford, MI.

Election Day -- Tuesday, November 5, 2024

The Local General Election will take place on Tuesday, November 5, 2024. Polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. at all 36 voting precincts throughout Southfield. Click on the link below to determine your correct voting precinct if voting in-person on Election Day.

Absent Voter Ballot

The State of Michigan is now a NO-reason absentee vote state, meaning residents can cast an absentee ballot without giving a reason.

Absent Voter Applications

To request an Application for Absent Voters Ballot, visit the City Clerk's Office at City Hall, 26000 Evergreen Road; contact the City Clerk's Office at (248) 796-5150, or download a copy of the application for Absent Voter Ballot Form. Please be sure to sign and print your full name and address on the application form.

If you are interested in receiving an Absent Voter Application for all future elections, please complete the Permanent Absent Voter Request Form and return it to the City Clerk's Office. Once your signature is received, your name will be recorded on a Permanent Absent Voter List to receive Absent Voter Applications for all future elections.

Early voting for all Southfield precincts will be available in the Southfield Parks & Recreation Room 115 from October 26 - November 3, 2024 from 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. (except Thursday, October 31, 2024 from noon - 8 p.m.) Early voting will also be available for all Southfield precincts at Oakland County's regional site: Waterford Oaks Activity Center, 2800 Watkins Lake Road in Waterford.

Absentee Ballots issued on the Monday prior to the Election must be voted on-site by 4 p.m.; they cannot leave the Municipal Building per State Election Law. All Absent Voter Ballots must be returned to the City Clerk's Office by 8 p.m. on Election night in order to be counted.

Polling Location Changes

The polling place for precincts 13 & 14 at Beth Yehudah (Schoenhals School), located at 16500 Lincoln Drive, have been moved permanently to Thompson School located at 16300 Lincoln Drive.

Precincts 4 & 5 at Vandenberg Academy will be temporarily moved to Southfield Pavilion at located at 26000 Evergreen Road.

Precincts 25 & 26 at Stevenson Elementry School will be temporarily moved to Birney Middle School, 27225 Evergreen Road.

Precincts 11 & 12 at Adler School located at 19100 Filmore will be temporarily moved to Southfield Pavilion located at 26000 Evergreen Road for the November 5, 2024 General Election due to
construction in the gym.
