Lincoln Transportation and Utilities (LTU) Maintenance Operations and Fleet Services Manager Tim Byrne today said that due to the potential for freezing rain late Friday, December 13, and early Saturday, December 14, winter operations crews will monitor street conditions throughout the evening and overnight hours.
"Crews will begin patrolling city streets with the onset of freezing rain. They will treat arterial streets, school, and bus routes with granular salt pre-wet with brine throughout the evening and overnight hours as needed to help prevent ice buildup on Lincoln streets," Byrne said. "We will also be patrolling streets surrounding Pinnacle Bank Arena and the Devaney Center to assist with safe travels for basketball and volleyball game attendees."
