Denbighshire landmarks will again this year be lit up white on Monday 25 November to mark White Ribbon Day, a national day to end violence towards women and girls.
Denbighshire County Council and Denbighshire Leisure Limited are supporting White Ribbon Day, which is aimed at raising awareness of male violence towards women and girls and changing harmful attitudes and behaviours to prevent gender based violence from happening in the first place.
Rhyl Pavilion Theatre/1891, Rhyl Sky Tower and Pont y Ddraig will all be lit up white to show support and awareness for this important day.
Councillor Rhys Thomas, Lead Member for Housing and Communities, said:
"Working towards ending domestic abuse will always be high on the Council's agenda.
"As a Council, we will continue to work alongside North Wales Police and our partners to ensure that we can give the highest level of support possible, ensuring we do all we can to protect our residents from having to live in fear of violence.
"It's also important to remember that men can also experience domestic abuse and the Council is committed to reducing domestic abuse against both women and men. "
Jamie Groves, Managing Director of DLL, said:
"It is an honour and a privilege to support the White Ribbon Day once again.
"The day provides us with an important opportunity to remember all those who have lost their lives at the hand of violence and we are proud to light up our buildings for White Ribbon Day."
To wear a white ribbon is to pledge never to commit, excuse or remain silent about violence against women.
