Daytime Traffic Shift, One way Traffic Control for State Route 1 (SR 1) Capital Preventive Maintenance Project in Marin County

Schedule: Monday, Oct. 14 through Friday, Oct. 18

Marin County - Caltrans is scheduled to continue work on the State Route 1 (Shoreline Highway) Capital Preventative Maintenance Project in October.

One-way traffic control or a traffic shift will be utilized for electrical work and the pouring of concrete in the town of Tomales from Monday, Oct. 14 to Wednesday, Oct. 16 from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day.

Additional work could occur on Thursday, Oct. 17 and Friday, Oct. 18 in the project limits.

Changeable Message signs will be put up in the areas to remind residents about the construction.

This overall project will repair segments of SR-1 and will include cycling and pedestrian upgrades. The project is slated to make improvements during a nearly 14-mile stretch from Olema through Point Reyes Station and from Tomales to the county line.

The upgrades include pavement resurfacing and repairs; restriping; culvert replacements to improve drainage; shoulder widening to help cyclists; guardrail, crosswalk, and signage upgrades; new signage; and sidewalk and path upgrades to meet disability access standards and improve access to West Marin-Inverness School in Point Reyes Station.

The completion timeline for the project is Summer 2025.
