At 12:25 a.m. today, Engine 16 was dispatched to the 4600 block of North Royal Court for a reported vehicle fire in a carport adjacent to a home. Updates from Spokane Regional Emergency Communications dispatchers indicated that the fire had spread to an attached garage and threatened a neighboring house, prompting firefighters to upgrade the response to a working structure fire.

Engine 16 arrived on the scene four minutes later, confirming heavy fire that endangered both the initial home and the neighboring property. Firefighters quickly deployed hoselines to attack the main body of the fire while other crews focused on searching the residence, ventilating the structure, and ensuring the fire did not spread through hidden void spaces.

After a thorough investigation, fire investigators were unable to determine the cause of the fire. The damages were significant, including the loss of two vehicles and a boat, with an estimated total of $250,000. However, the swift response and actions of the firefighters helped save property valued at over $700,000. There were no injuries to civilians or firefighters, and no occupants were displaced because of the incident.
