Barnes & Noble Opens New Store in Saint Louis Galleria10/23/2024

Grand Opening at 10 AM on Wednesday, October 30, 2024

Richmond Heights, MO - October 23, 2024 - Barnes & Noble is pleased to announce the opening of its new bookstore in Richmond Heights on Wednesday, October 30th. The new Barnes & Noble is located in Saint Louis Galleria (2417 St Louis Galleria St, Richmond Heights, MO 63117), in the space formerly occupied by Microsoft, next to Sephora.

The new Barnes & Noble will officially open to the public at 10AM CT on Wednesday the 30th. The bookstore showcases the highly lauded bookstore design seen in the most recent Barnes & Noble store openings, featuring all the best books, toys, games and gifts that customers have come to expect from the nation's premier bookseller.

"When looking to expand our presence in this area, Saint Louis Galleria - the preeminent shopping center in Missouri - was at the top of our list," said James Daunt, CEO, Barnes & Noble. "This new Barnes & Noble, alongside recent openings in Arizona, Kentucky, New York, South Carolina and Tennessee, is another significant step in our ongoing return to malls, which we are excited to continue here in Richmond Heights."

Barnes & Noble is enjoying a period of tremendous growth as the strategy to hand control of each bookstore to its local booksellers has proven so successful. The bookseller is experiencing strong sales in its existing stores and has been opening many new stores after more than 15 years of declining store numbers. In 2023, Barnes & Noble opened more new bookstores in a single year than it had in the whole decade from 2009 to 2019. The bookseller expects to open over 50 new bookstores in 2024.

The Saint Louis Galleria location is one of five new Barnes & Noble bookstores set to open in October, along with new locations in TX, SC, VA, FL, and IL. Each grand opening has drawn enthusiastic crowds that wrap around the building, filling the store as the ribbon is cut.

"We are thrilled to help bring a new Barnes & Noble to Richmond Heights, particularly to Saint Louis Galleria," said Store Manager Jolene Crismon Carter, B&N bookseller of nearly 30 years. "Our team of experienced booksellers has been hard at work curating our bookstore to the tastes of this community and we cannot wait to show it off."
