To mark the first International Intangible Cultural Heritage Day, the Finnish Crafts Association Taito, together with the Design Museum, is organising a discussion event with examples and stories of the importance of repair. Together with the participants, they will share experiences and ideas on what we can do to promote sustainable development.
What motivates people to repair objects and what makes a repaired object worth preserving? What stories and ideas are associated with repair? What skills are required to repair and how can this knowledge be passed on?
On 19 November 2024 from 18-19.30, we will gather at the Design Museum with craft experts to explore these questions. Bring your own repaired garment or other object and join the discussion about the importance of repair with Kikka Jelisejeff from the Finnish Crafts Association Taitosta, repair activist Niko Lindgren and other participants!
