Oct. 16, 2024

HARRISBURG - Rep. Lee James (R-Venango/Crawford) announced the Pennsylvania Infrastructure Investment Authority (PENNVEST) awarded more than $9 million in grant and low-interest loan funding to the Clintonville Borough Sewer and Water Authority, and the city of Titusville.

Clintonville Borough Sewer and Water Authority received a $7.062 million grant to fully replace the current plant and upgrade two pump stations. The undertaking includes a new headwork with dual auger debris removal system, a 100,000 gallons-per-day, dual-tank Sequential Batch Reactor (SBR) continuous flow treatment system, combined blower, sludge dewatering equipment and wet lab. Ultraviolet disinfection equipment will be used and installed as part of the new facility. Also, an emergency generator and electrical switchgear will be installed at the property.

The city of Titusville, recipient of a $2 million loan, will use the funding to support test and production wells to gather water quality data. A new water treatment plant will be built adjacent to the existing facility.

"This is fantastic news for the residents of Clintonville Borough and city of Titusville," said James. "These projects will go a long way to ensure our communities receive the best services available."

Founded in 1988, PENNVEST provides grants and low-interest loans for design, engineering and construction of publicly and privately owned drinking water distribution and treatment facilities, as well as storm water and wastewater projects.
