Huron Valley State Bank's Green Team Adopts a Tree through ReTree Program

Wednesday, November 27, 2024

Huron Valley State Bank's Green Team celebrated the culmination of months of effort by planting a newly adopted Oregon Trail tree today, in partnership with the ReTree Program. The tree, which symbolizes sustainability and community commitment, was funded through proceeds raised during the Bank's Casual for a Cause Day held in April, where employees donated to dress casually. The Oregon Trail tree was planted on November 27th, 2024, with the help of Green Acres Tree Farm, a trusted partner of ReTree, and stands as a reminder of the Bank's dedication to environmental stewardship.

Huron Valley State Bank raised $400 through the initiative, enabling the Green Team to adopt a tree through ReTree's innovative program. ReTree's mission is simple yet powerful: "Mature trees provide irreplaceable ecological and sentimental value to people, communities and the planet at large."

Founder & CEO, Dennise Vidosh of RE-TREE provides a revolutionary digital marketplace that makes it easy for property owners to save and repurpose unique mature trees either by buying, selling, or relocating them. As a result, property owners benefit from having the means to quickly improve the aesthetics of their property or by selling, ensure their tree avoids destruction and continues to thrive in a new location.

"Our Green Team is thrilled to see this project come to life," said Lori Gray, Chairwoman of the Green Team at Huron Valley State Bank. "This tree is more than a symbol-it's a reflection of our ongoing mission to be more environmentally conscious, economically sustainable, and proactive in reducing paper and our carbon footprint. Partnering with ReTree and Green Acres Tree Farm reinforces our commitment to preserving the environment for future generations."

The Green Team at Huron Valley State Bank works to integrate sustainable practices into the Bank's operations while engaging employees and the community in meaningful initiatives. Today's planting highlights their dedication to making a lasting impact both locally and globally.
