ROSEMONT, Ill. (October 17, 2024)-The American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons (AAOS) Registry Program released the Shoulder & Elbow Registry (SER) 2024 Annual Report. With more than 424 submitting surgeons among 82 participating facilities including hospitals, private practices and ambulatory surgical centers spanning 40 states across the U.S., the report offers actionable information to guide physicians and patient decision making to improve care. The report marks the fifth edition of the SER Annual Report.
The SER collects shoulder and elbow procedural data across the United States. National data allows for establishing implant survivorship, tracking revisions and improving the quality of patient care. The latest annual report includes 36,296 submitted patient procedures, which is a 44% increase in procedures since the 2022 report.
Highlights include:

The SER includes representatives from the American Shoulder and Elbow Surgeons (ASES), the American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine (AOSSM), the Arthroscopy Association of North America (AANA), and the American Society for Surgery of the Hand (ASSH).
