Moore Recognized as ‘Member of the Year’ by Iowa Public Procurement Association

AMES, Iowa - Amanda Moore, Procurement Specialist II, earned the Iowa Public Procurement Association (IPPA) 2024 Member of the Year award. The recognition was bestowed during the organization's annual conference held recently in Ames.

The IPPA Member of the Year award recognizes chapter members who have demonstrated a serious commitment to the chapter and its members and have advanced the profession through their volunteer services. This is Moore's second year in a row earning this award. She currently serves as the chapter's webmaster and has been involved in IPPA since 2017. Nominations are submitted by other IPPA members.

"I am honored to receive the 'Member of Year' recognition again," Moore said. "This is a profession that one falls into because there is no procurement school or major. We learn from experience. IPPA provides networking opportunities where we can ask questions and bounce ideas off each other. IPPA has become a valuable resource."

IPPA is a chapter of the National Institute for Governmental Purchasing (NIGP) and is a nonprofit organization comprised of public sector purchasing professionals throughout Iowa. Public procurement is the process by which government agencies acquire goods, services, and expertise from external sources. Professionals in this field manage the entire procurement cycle, including planning, sourcing, contracting, and contract management, ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory standards. Their goal is to achieve value for public funds, promote competition, and uphold transparency and accountability.
