Seattle City (spot)Light: Christina Zaccagnino, Senior Training and Education Specialist

The Basics

How long have you been at City Light? It will be two years in November.

Division: Workforce Excellence

Tell us about your role. I support various internal training programs, such as new employee orientation and electric utility fundamentals and administer Cornerstone, Seattle City Light's learning management system. I also collaborate with work units across City Light to help identify and address training needs, from initial analysis through implementation and evaluation.

Background

Hometown: Brooklyn, N.Y.

Alma mater: New York University (Bachelor of Science) and University of Washington (Master of Education)

Discipline/Trade of study: Education and adult learning

Tell us about your family/pets: I love visiting New York to see my niece and nephew, who recently turned 3 and 4!

Just for fun

What do you like most about your role? My favorite part of my role is working with subject matter experts (SMEs) to break down complex information into comprehensible and actionable learning. Collaborating with SMEs to parse out what a non-expert needs to know, and how it can most effectively be learned, is something I love to nerd out about. I'm able to pull on my teaching background in a way that can be fun and impactful.
