TAMPA, FL. (October 14, 2024) -- On Monday, October 14, 2024, just before 1:30 pm, Tampa Police responded to a report of a body observed in the Hillsborough River near Rowlett Park. Members of the Tampa Police Marine Unit recovered the deceased individual, an adult black male, from the water.

While very early in the investigation, there are currently no obvious indications of foul play. Detectives are currently working to positively identify the deceased and inform next of kin. The Medical Examiner will determine the official cause of death.
