Welcome to the LBPD Blotter!

As part of our ongoing commitment to external communications and providing valuable information to our community, the Department posts preliminary information about incidents that occurred the previous evening, including shootings and stabbings, as well as any other LBPD updates to the Department's homepage and on the "News" tab of the Department's website. This page will be updated as new incidents occur.

Here's a recap of incidents occurring last night:

  • Stabbing - 4100 block of Orange Avenue - On Nov. 19, 2024 at approximately 6:42 a.m., officers responded to the 4100 block of Orange Avenue regarding a stabbing. Upon arrival, officers located a male adult victim with a non-life-threatening stab wound to the upper body. Long Beach Fire Department personnel arrived on scene and transported the victim to a local hospital. The preliminary investigation indicates a male adult suspect and the victim were involved in a physical altercation, which escalated when the suspect stabbed the victim. The suspect fled the scene prior to officers' arrival. The investigation is ongoing.

  • Stolen Vehicle Arrest - 1900 block of East 14th Street - On Nov. 18, 2024, at approximately 6:14 p.m., officers responded to the 1900 block of East 14th Street regarding a drug sales call. While responding to the scene, officers located an occupied suspect vehicle, which was later determined to have been stolen. After refusing to pull over, the vehicle attempted to flee, resulting in a brief vehicle pursuit. The pursuit ended near 14 th Street and Pine Avenue. Both suspects fled on foot but were located a short while later and arrested by officers. One of the suspects was transported to a local hospital for minor injuries sustained during a takedown . The investigation is ongoing.
