City of Jackson plans early voting ahead of Tuesday, Nov. 5 election

Did you know you can skip the Election Day lines and vote in-person before the election? The City of Jackson is preparing to open its early voting site on Saturday, Oct. 26 for registered voters to cast ballots ahead of the Tuesday, Nov. 5 General Election.

Early voting for City of Jackson voters will be available in the City Council Chambers of City Hall, 2nd Floor, 161 W. Michigan Avenue, Jackson, MI 49201, during the following dates and times.

  • Saturday, Oct. 26, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
  • Sunday, Oct. 27, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
  • Monday, Oct. 28, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
  • Tuesday, Oct. 29, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
  • Wednesday, Oct. 30, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
  • Thursday, Oct. 31, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
  • Friday, Nov. 1, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
  • Saturday, Nov. 2, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
  • Sunday, Nov. 3, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

City Hall is the only early voting location for the City of Jackson. The early voting site is only open to registered voters from the City of Jackson and not voters who reside in other Jackson County jurisdictions.

Voters will follow the same procedures as they would voting in-person on Election Day at their polling place. In-person voting at polling places on Election Day is not impacted. Polling places will be open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 5 for voters to cast ballots. The submission of absentee ballots is also not affected.

Voters will decide races for federal, State and local offices in the election. There will also be millage proposals for the Jackson County Jail, Jackson College and the Jackson District Library.
