Knife River provides update on South Washington Street and Burleigh Avenue Reconstruction

Dear Residents,

We would like to update you on the on-going reconstruction of South Washington St. and Burleigh Ave.

Washington St. / Santa Fe Ave. Intersection

With mainline concrete paving nearly complete, it has become necessary to close the Washington St./Santa Fe Ave. intersection to through traffic (east/west). This closure will begin Friday (10/18/2024) and is planned to last until Monday afternoon or Tuesday morning. Knife River will be pouring the concrete from the temporary roadway on the west side of Washington St. up to the asphalt tie-in east of Washington St. on Friday (10/18), this will allow us to have two-way traffic (north/south) back on Washington St. early next week.

Burleigh Ave. Widening

Once the above work is completed and two-way traffic is established on Washington St., work on the Burleigh Ave. widening will commence, with flagging operations for east/west traffic planned for Tuesday-Saturday (10/22-10/26) during working hours to facilitate the required asphalt work in this area.

South Half of Roundabout

During the above work sequences, there will be a Knife River concrete crew working on the south half of the roundabout also. With work happening simultaneous to the above items, this work plan will allow the project to be completed as efficiently as possible.
