Sanders Signs an Executive Order Amending DR 23-03 to Provide Funding for Severe Storms and Flooding on February 8, 2023

TO ALL TO WHOM THESE PRESENTS COME - GREETINGS:

EO 24-22: EXECUTIVE ORDER AMENDING DR 23-03 TO PROVIDE FUNDING, AS AUTHORIZED BY ARK. CODE ANN. §§ 12-75-114, et seq.

WHEREAS: On February 8, 2023, severe storms and flooding occurred in Arkansas and continued to cause dangers, hardships, and suffering throughout the state, which in turn, warrant this executive action;

WHEREAS: Adverse circumstances have been brought to bear upon citizens and public properties within the State of Arkansas;

WHEREAS: The affected political subdivisions require supplemental assistance from the State to recover from these losses; and

WHEREAS: DR 23-03 was signed on March 14, 2023, in response to these storms.

NOW, THEREFORE, I, SARAH HUCKABEE SANDERS, acting under the authority vested in me as Governor of the State of Arkansas, and pursuant to Ark. Code Ann. §§ 12-75-101, et seq., do hereby amend Proclamation DR 23-03 (dated March 14, 2023) to provide funding in the amount of $32,012.68, to be obligated from the Governor's Disaster Response and Recovery Fund under the Public Assistance Program. Such funds will be used at the discretion of the Director of the Arkansas Division of Emergency Management to defray both program and administrative costs.
