Director-General of Department of South Asian, Middle East and African Affairs met with Ambassador of Republic of Senegal to Kingdom of Thailand

On 18 October 2024, Ms. Sasirit Tangulrat, Director-General, Department of South Asian, Middle East and African Affairs, discussed with H.E. Mr. Abdoulaye Barro, Ambassador of the Republic of Senegal to the Kingdom of Thailand with residence in Kuala Lumpur, on the occasion of his visit to Thailand to present the Letters of Credence to His Majesty the King of Thailand.

In this occasion, both sides expressed satisfaction with the cordial relations between Thailand and Senegal over nearly 45 years since the establishment of the diplomatic relations between both countries in 1980. The Director-General expressed her appreciation for the Embassy's support rendered to the Colours of Africa 2024 event in September, which was concluded with great success, and enhanced awareness among the Thai public, especially the Thai youth of Africa's potential in various fields. In addition, they also discussed ways and means to further strengthen bilateral relations through proposals on exchanges of high-level visits, an agreement on the exemption of visa requirements for diplomatic and official passports and cooperation in trade and investment, particularly in the sectors of agriculture and energy.
