Recognized for people-centric culture, growth opportunities, and meaningful career paths
CHICAGO, November 18, 2024 - S&C Electric Company, a leading innovator of resilient grid technology, has been named one of the Chicago Tribune's best places to work among large employers in the Chicago area for the sixth year in a row. The annual survey collects data from the six counties the Chicago area.
"We are honored that S&C continues to be recognized for our commitment to manufacturing, our investment in the Chicago area, and our strong safety and employee-focused culture," said Anders Sjoelin, S&C president and CEO. "Our team culture and focus on providing meaningful career opportunities help us attract and retain the best and brightest talent in Chicago. Together, we play a vital role in transforming the electrical grid for a sustainable, outage-free future."
The confidential Top Workplaces survey measures team member experience and its component themes, including employees feeling respected and supported, enabled to grow, and empowered to execute. A third-party firm, Energage, gathers this direct feedback from employees in an anonymous survey.
"Earning a Top Workplaces award is a badge of honor for companies, especially because it comes authentically from their employees," said Eric Rubino, Energage CEO. "That's something to be proud of. In today's market, leaders must ensure they're allowing employees to have a voice and be heard. That's paramount. Top Workplaces do this, and it pays dividends."
Earlier this year, S&C was honored as one of the Top Manufacturing Workplaces in the U.S. for the fourth consecutive year. The company was also recognized as a top employer in the United States for the fourth year in a row, and it received Top Workplace culture badges for Innovation, Purpose & Values, Leadership, Work-Life Balance, and Compensation & Benefits. S&C has been 100% employee share-owned (ESOP) since 2012.
