EL PASO, TEXAS - On Thursday, December 12, 2024, at around 7:17 AM, El Paso County Sheriff's Office deputies responded to a vehicle accident on I-10 Westbound at the Vinton Exit (Exit 2) involving a black SUV and a silver sedan. The sedan suffered minor damage and was quickly cleared from the roadway, with no injuries reported among its occupants. The black SUV became inoperable, blocking the left lane, and its driver required medical attention for minor injuries. The accident led to a temporary closure of I-10 for medical response and cleanup of an oil spill. Traffic was redirected through North Desert Boulevard, where deputies managed congestion. The driver of the black SUV was transported to a local hospital, and one lane was reopened while awaiting a tow truck. At approximately 08:38 hrs., the black SUV was impounded and I-10 Westbound was reopened.
