RSU Faculty, Students Attend 41st Annual NRMERA Conference

[Link]Several Rogers State University faculty members and students recently attended a conference highlighting the importance of conducting educational research.

Held Oct. 2-4 at Lake Tahoe, the 41st annual National Rocky Mountain Educational Research Association (NRMERA) Conference is a gathering of researchers, educators and graduate students from across the northern Rocky Mountain region.

RSU faculty members attending were Dr. Lori O'Malley, Professor Christi Mackey, Dr. Sara Moon-Seo, Dr. Donna Sharp, and Dr. Sonya E Munsell, as well as RSU students Brian Pham and Baron Buster.

Conference-goers share their research work and experiences to advance knowledge about education, to encourage scholarly inquiry related to education, and to promote the use of research to improve education in an array of areas.

RSU faculty and students presented on a variety of research topics including the Delphi method, students' perceptions of campus climate diversity, collaborative learning in higher education, working-class students' adjustment to college, and eating disorders.

Also during the conference, Munsell was promoted from president-elect to president of the organization and Mackey was appointed 2025 Conference Chair. Munsell, alongside Mackey, will be responsible for organizing and hosting the conference, to be held in Denver, Colorado, In 2025.

NRMERA is the regional affiliate of the American Educational Research Association. NRMERA strives to provide a setting where university students and faculty can present research, receive feedback, and learn from colleagues.

The association invites graduate students, teacher educators, state and local administrators, and public and private educators to explore some of these opportunities to make everlasting connections. NRMERA also has a peer-reviewed journal titled "Educational Research: Theory and Practice."
