Notice of Resident Death at Local Hospital

NOTICE OF RESIDENT DEATH AT LOCAL HOSPITAL

On Monday, November 25, 2024, at approximately 7:17 am, DC Department of Corrections (DOC) security personnel found resident Daniel Jeffers (31), of Washington State, unresponsive in his cell at the Central Detention Facility. Immediate life-saving measures were performed by DOC staff and medical personnel. DC Fire and EMS responded to the scene and transported Mr. Jeffers to MedStar Washington Hospital Center where he was later pronounced dead at approximately 3:05 pm.

The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner will determine cause and manner of death. The incident is being investigated by the Metropolitan Police Department and the DOC Office of Investigative Services.
