MJE Livestock Equipment to launch apprenticeship program through KFB's RKAP

MJE Livestock Equipment is launching an apprenticeship program for five roles through Kansas Farm Bureau's (KFB) award-winning Rural Kansas Apprenticeship Program (RKAP).

"At MJE, we're dedicated to building a highly skilled workforce and investing in the growth of our employees," says Heather Jantz, MJE's chief operating officer. "This apprenticeship program empowers our employees to gain valuable skills, advance their careers and build a brighter future for themselves and their families. We view it as a way to invest back in the workforce that helps keep us moving forward."

MJE will provide training and technical instruction to employees hired into positions for welders, diesel mechanics, heavy equipment operators, heavy truck drivers and concrete finishers. Apprentices will be recruited, interviewed, hired and employed by MJE. For more information about current openings, visit www.mjelivestockequipment.com and click on "Apprenticeship Program" under the About tab.

KFB will serve as the intermediary sponsor working with MJE and the Kansas Office of Registered Apprenticeship to assist in the administration of these apprenticeship opportunities. Apprentices will receive mentorship, training and compensation while developing skills in a high-demand agricultural career path.

"The partnership with MJE is important to KFB and RKAP because we're able to promote rural living to young adults," says Kylee Stout, RKAP business development manager. "The careers young adults think they need to move out of state to obtain can be found right in their hometowns."

RKAP helps agriculture-related businesses and those operating in rural Kansas customize apprenticeships based on their needs. RKAP helps businesses develop curriculum and manage reporting requirements associated with an apprenticeship. To learn more, visit www.kfb.org/RKAP or contact Stout at [email protected].
