"Philanthropy is essential to achieving our vision to be the exemplar public institution in scholarship, teaching, and experiential learning," President Jim Henderson said. "Will's genuine enthusiasm for Louisiana Tech and its mission will resonate with our treasured donors and partners, inspiring meaningful collaboration and support."

Dearmon, a 2013 graduate of Louisiana Tech, was recognized as the University's Young Alumnus of the Year in 2023. Bringing a wealth of experience from the private sector, Dearmon has an extensive background in corporate strategy, fundraising, communications, operations, and higher education partnerships. His career spans roles in business development, strategic planning, and stakeholder engagement, including serving as president and CEO of the Ruston-Lincoln Chamber of Commerce, where he spearheaded key initiatives to support local businesses and economic development.

"I couldn't be more excited for Mr. Dearmon and for Louisiana Tech," said Dave Norris, senior VP for innovation and advancement and Louisiana Tech University Foundation CEO. "I am tremendously enthusiastic about what he can do for our university, our donors, and our stakeholders."

"The potential of Louisiana Tech University is limitless when the right people, supported with the right resources, are empowered to pursue a mission of student development and generational impact," Dearmon said. "I have never been more optimistic about my alma mater's future, and I am eager to play a more direct role in its success."

As CDO, Dearmon will cultivate a culture of philanthropy within the Louisiana Tech community, building relationships with donors, alumni, corporate partners, and stakeholders. He will also play a key role on the Innovation and Advancement Division's leadership team, helping to integrate innovation, philanthropy, and partnerships to further the University's mission.
