Every fall, Enterprise Bankers volunteer to organize two internal events that benefit Sun Santa Fund, which was established in 1988 when Lowell Sun Charities learned that many Greater Lowell families were having difficulty affording Christmas gifts for their children or even a holiday meal. Countless team members open their hearts, wallets, and schedules each year to participate in the events.
On October 3, the 24th annual Baked Potato Feast fundraiser kicked off the Sun Santa season at Enterprise Bank. For a donation to benefit the Sun Santa Fund, employees enjoyed a baked russet or sweet potato to which they could add their choice of toppings. The popular event is organized each year by the Information Services department.
On November 19, the annual Christmas Breakfast and Raffle was held, led by the Accounting and Finance department with assistance from colleagues in Wealth Management and Sales and Marketing. Volunteers signed up to prepare breakfast casseroles, quiches, and baked goods, or donated money to buy breakfast pizzas, fruits, coffee, and juice. Team members made donations at the door for Sun Santa Fund and enjoyed the breakfast buffet prepared and served by their colleagues.
In conjunction with the Christmas Breakfast, the Enterprise Bank "Sun Santa Elves" organized the popular annual basket raffle. The Elves collected dozens of themed raffle baskets including merchandise, gift cards, and lottery tickets that were donated by back office departments and the branches. The baskets were displayed in a training room near the breakfast event. Team members bank wide bought raffle tickets and entered to win, with proceeds benefitting Sun Santa Fund.
The generosity and service of Enterprise Bank team members are known throughout our community. Special internal events like Baked Potato Day and the Christmas Breakfast, plus participation in the many nonprofit boards and external community service efforts throughout the year, continually earn us recognition for volunteerism from Boston Business Journal. In September, BBJ announced that Enterprise Bank ranked #2 for the highest average volunteer hours in community service in Massachusetts for 2023 (32.94 per employee).
