NA Speaker Meets with General Secretary of the Communist Party of Viet Nam Central Committee

The delegation led by the Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia, who is in Viet Nam on an official visit, met with the General Secretary of the Central Committee of the ruling Communist Party of the Socialist Republic of Viet Nam, To Lam. As a result of comprehensive discussions on Armenian-Vietnamese relations, To Lam expressed confidence that the visit of the Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia will give new impetus to strengthening bilateral traditional friendship and multilateral cooperation in the near future.

Alen Simonyan, in turn, noted that Viet Nam is a special country for Armenia and added that there are close ties between the two countries, based on mutual trust and traditional and cultural connections.

The parties also emphasized the importance of mutual tourism, noting that, along with economic benefits, it will also promote people-to-people contacts. In this context, the issue of direct flights between the two countries was also discussed.

Reference was also made to regional developments, and Alen Simonyan presented the "Crossroads of Peace" project to To Lam.
