Unveils New 24/7 Resources at Emery Park: Locker of Things and Vending Library

Alhambra, CA - The City of Alhambra is excited to announce the launch of two innovative resources available 24/7 at Emery Park: the "Locker of Things" and the "Vending Library." These additions are designed to enhance access to recreational activities and library resources for our community.

"This is a wonderful step forward in ensuring our community has access to educational and recreational resources, no matter their schedules," said Councilmember Adele Andrade-Stadler. "By providing these 24/7 services at Emery Park, we're helping families connect, learn, and grow together. I want to thank Assemblymember Mike Fong for championing this project and securing the funding. It's truly an investment in our community's future."

Our Locker of Things is a collection of five compartments filled with a variety of family-friendly games that can be checked out and enjoyed either at the park or at home. Families can expect a selection of fun favorites like UNO, Spoons, and Candy Land, among many others. The Locker of Things is perfect for family bonding, offering entertainment that everyone can enjoy together.

The Vending Library is a game-changer for the community, holding over 200 books available for checkout and return. It is especially beneficial for residents on the West side of Alhambra who may not always have the time to visit the main Library. With a diverse collection of books in multiple languages and for all ages, the Vending Library ensures that everyone can find something to enjoy. Whether you're looking for children's stories, young adult fiction, or novels in your preferred language, our Vending Library has it all.

The Vending Library system also includes lockers to securely store book holds and other requested items for easy 24/7 pick-up. This feature allows residents to pick up their items at any time, providing flexibility and expanded access to valuable library resources.

The kiosk was made possible through funding from the 2022-2023 California State Budget, championed by Assemblymember Mike Fong as a community project for Alhambra.

Residents are encouraged to visit Emery Park and take advantage of these new resources today. Whether you're looking for a game to play or a book to enjoy, these tools are here to serve you-anytime.
