Rep. Tony Gonzales Statement on Abundant Life Christian School Shooting

WASHINGTON, D.C. - Congressman Tony Gonzales (TX-23), Founder and Co-Chair of the Bipartisan School Safety and Security Caucus, issued the below statement following the tragic school shooting at Abundant Life Christian School in Madison, Wisconsin.

"Today's school shooting at Abundant Life Christian School in Wisconsin is devastating-no parent, family, or community should ever have to experience a tragedy like this. It's shameful for lawmakers to stand by while mass violence continues to plague school campuses. We need a national strategy to detect and prevent this kind of terrorism from taking place across our nation," said Congressman Tony Gonzales.

The Bipartisan School Safety and Security Caucus is focused on moving past partisan gridlock in Congress to advance school safety and security solutions. Earlier this year, Congressman Gonzales introduced the National Strategy for School Security Act, which seeks to prevent mass shootings on school campuses by requiring the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) to create a comprehensive plan to combat these threats.
