BPD arrests store owner on multiple drug related charges following investigation

November 7, 2024

Boise Police officers served a search warrant at a business on S. Capitol Blvd today, November 7, 2024, and made one arrest, following months of investigation.

Suspect: Paramjit Singh, 49, Chico, CA

Charges: Controlled Substance with intent to deliver (F), Controlled Substance-Deliver, Possess or Manufacture With Intent To Deliver, Drug Paraphernalia (F) - 2 counts, Controlled Substance-(Conspiracy) to Deliver (F), Criminal Conspiracy (F)

In March of 2024, Boise Police's Alcohol Compliance Officer began investigating a business located at 1265 S Capitol Blvd for selling alcohol to minors. As part of the investigation, the officer found a large amount of illegal drug paraphernalia also being sold in the store and possibly being sold to minors. The officer provided education and warnings on multiple occasions to the store's owner about the laws for selling alcohol and drug paraphernalia.

After repeated attempts to bring the business into compliance with state law, Boise Police officers served a search warrant at the business and arrested the store's owner, Paramjit Singh.

"Evidence shows the business was selling a large number of items related to altering, concealing, ingesting, and packaging illegal drugs and that they were targeting college students and high school age students in our community," said Boise Police BSU Lieutenant Chris Davis. "This investigation underscores the Boise Police Department's commitment to ensuring the safety and well-being of our community, particularly our youth, and we will continue to hold businesses accountable that contribute to the illegal sale and distribution of harmful substances."

A list of some of the items sold at the store is included below. It is unlawful for any person to deliver, possess with intent to deliver, or manufacture with intent to deliver, drug paraphernalia, knowing, or under circumstances where one reasonably should know, that it will be used to plant, propagate, cultivate, grow, harvest, manufacture, compound, convert, produce, process, prepare, test, analyze, pack, repack, store, contain, conceal, inject, ingest, inhale, or otherwise introduce into the human body a controlled substance.
