Envision Secures Contract to Package U.S. Army Fitness Kits

Blog Content

Envision manufacturing operations recently secured a five-year contract with the Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) to package fitness kits for the U.S. Army Combat Fitness Test (ACFT). The contract involves packaging individual components of the kits together, in addition to packaging replacement parts.

The ACFT is the assessment for the physical portion of the Army's Holistic Health and Fitness System. This system is the Army's primary investment in soldier readiness and lethality, optimal physical and non-physical performance, reduced injury rates, improved rehabilitation after injury and increased overall effectiveness of the total Army. The system empowers and equips soldiers to take charge of their health, fitness and well-being in order to optimize individual performance, while preventing injury and disease.

Our long-term partnership with the DLA has been made possible through the AbilityOne program, which aims to create employment opportunities for people who are blind or have significant disabilities. As a National Industries for the Blind (NIB) associated agency, Envision proudly delivers high-quality products to Federal customers through the AbilityOne Program.

By securing this contract, we are not only serving the needs of our armed forces but also creating valuable employment opportunities for people with vision loss. The contract will allow us to provide additional employment for at least two individuals who are blind or visually impaired per year. This is a significant step in expanding our workforce and demonstrating the capabilities of people with vision loss in the workforce!

We are proud to support the U.S. Army by providing these essential fitness kits that will contribute to the readiness of our army personnel and will greatly support our nation's defense.
