County to Host Youth Football Championship and All-Star Soccer Tournament Saturday

Escambia County Parks and Recreation will wrap up another successful youth football season at county parks this weekend, along with the second annual Pensacola Recreation All-Star Soccer Tournament at Ashton Brosnaham Athletic Park.

Hundreds of local youth ages 5-14 participated in the Northwest Florida Youth Sports Alliance Football League this season, with six teams from county parks making it to the championships this Saturday, Nov. 23 at Escambia High School.

The youth football championship game schedule is as follows:

  • 7U Bellview Packers vs Pace: 9:30 a.m.
  • 8U Bellview Packers vs SYSA: 11 a.m.
  • 10U Bellview Packers vs NEP: 2 p.m.
  • 11U Bellview Packers vs Pace: 3:30 p.m.
  • 12U Bellview Packers vs SYSA: 5 p.m.
  • 14U Bellview Packers vs Cantonment Cowboys: 6:30 p.m.

In addition to six Escambia County teams, the Northwest Florida Youth Sports Alliance Football League includes teams from the City of Pensacola and Santa Rosa County.

For the second time ever, Escambia County Parks and Recreation is hosting a Youth Soccer Recreation All-Star Tournament with Snap Soccer, which includes about 200 local youth ages 8-15 who were selected by their coaches to participate. Participating teams included Pensacola Futbol Club, Perdido Bay Futbol Club, City of Pensacola Youth Soccer, and the Tiger Point Sports Association.

The tournament started Thursday, Nov. 21, with games continuing Saturday at 9 a.m. at Ashton Brosnaham Soccer Complex. Visit the event website for more information and to view a tournament schedule.

"We're excited to wrap up another incredible season for youth football in Escambia County, and we're very proud of all of our teams who worked hard all season to make it to the championship," Parks and Recreation Director Michael Rhodes said. "We hope all of our youth football and soccer players have great games this weekend, and we appreciate the partnerships with our sports associations, dedicated coaches, parents and volunteers who make Escambia County youth sports a wonderful experience for our kids."

Ashton Brosnaham Athletic Park is located at 10370 Ashton Brosnaham Drive, and Escambia High School is located at 1310 N 65th Ave.
