Global law firm Norton Rose Fulbright has advised Markerstudy Group (Markerstudy), a Pollen Street Capital backed company, on its acquisition of insurance broker Hughes Insurance (Hughes).
Hughes, which has customers across the motor, home, van, travel and commercial insurance sector, will now form part of Markerstudy's Distribution division. With Hughes' strong Northern Ireland presence, the deal sees Markerstudy further strengthen its commitment to the region.
The Norton Rose Fulbright team advising on the acquisition was led by London partners Nicholas Berry and Sophie O'Connor, with support from associate Emma Borch. Partner Dominic Stuttaford and associate Elisabeth Trotter advised on tax aspects.
This is the latest in a number of transactions that the firm has worked on involving private equity and the insurance sector - giving it the opportunity to utilise and combine the experience of both its market leading teams in these areas and provide clients with the most comprehensive legal advice.
