Pursuant to AS 38.05.850, the Department of Natural Resources, Division of Mining, Land and Water (DMLW), Southcentral Regional Land Office (SCRO) has received an application for the following:

APPLICANT: Friends of West Susitna

PROJECT NAME: ADL 234426

GEOGRAPHIC LOCATION: Within affected portions of:

Township 17 North, Range 7 West, Seward Meridian, Sections 17, 18, 19, 20, 21 and 22;

Township 17 North, Range 8 West, Seward Meridian, Sections 6, 7, 8, 9, 13, 15, 16, 22, 23 and 24;

Township 17 North, Range 9 West, Seward Meridian, Section 1;

Township 18 North, Range 9 West, Seward Meridian, Sections 6, 7, 8, 16, 17, 21, 22, 26, 27, 35 and 36;

Township 18 North, Range 10 West, Seward Meridian, Section 1;

Township 19 North, Range 10 West, Seward Meridian, Sections 6, 7, 8, 9, 15, 16, 22, 26, 27, 35 and 36;

Township 19 North, Range 11 West, Seward Meridian, Section 1;

Township 20 North, Range 11 West, Seward Meridian, Sections 4, 5, 9, 15, 16, 22, 27, 26, 35 and 36;

Township 21 North, Range 11 West, Seward Meridian, Sections 29, 32 and 33.

REQUESTED ACTIVITY: The proposed easement or trail will authorize improvement and widening of an existing winter trail to enhance the safety of transportation activities involving wide and heavy loads and snowcat travel, among others.

The easement or trail across DNR-DMLW managed lands is proposed to be approximately 222,816 feet long and of variable width no greater than 16 feet wide. If approved, the easement or trail may differ from that proposed herein.

REQUESTED TERM: 30 years

DEADLINE FOR COMMENTS: Wednesday, November 6, 2024.

Members of the public and interested parties are invited to comment on this activity. The purpose of this notice is to gather input before a decision is made. To ensure consideration, written comments must be received by the Division of Mining, Land and Water at the Southcentral Regional Land Office, 550 W. 7th Ave., Suite 900C, Anchorage, Alaska 99501 on the date noted above. After review and and adjudication, SCRO may issue an authorization with stipulations for this activity. The activity may be modified during the review and adjudication process.
