The FPU community came together November 21 for the annual Thanksgiving Celebration Luncheon. The decades-long tradition drew more than 500 faculty, staff, students and administrators to express gratitude for God's blessings and enjoy a turkey dinner with all the trimmings in the Special Events Center on the main campus, 1717 S. Chestnut Ave., Fresno.
A major highlight is the Parade of Nations, where participants proudly carry flags representing the nations of international students. This colorful procession fosters a sense of belonging for students far from home and encourages everyone to appreciate the cultures that enrich the university. (Pictured are flag carriers lining up outside the SEC.)
Jake Gilbertson, vice president for student development, served as host. Jeff Jones, associate registrar; Provost Alison R. Noble; and SGA President Sariya Flores entertained with a good-natured trivia game. Taylor Starks, assistant director of spiritual formation and diversity, talked about the Sunbird Food Pantry. Food Service Provider, the FPU Events and Facilities offices and many others brought the luncheon to life.
